A man has been charged with the murder of a Sydney teenager following an alleged fatal stabbing in Sydney’s southwest.
Emergency services were called to Woodward Cres in Miller shortly after 9pm on Sunday following reports of a stabbing.
On arrival, police found an 18-year-old suffering serious neck wounds and performed CPR before he was taken to Liverpool Hospital.
The man – since identified as George Woods – died while being treated at the southwest Sydney hospital.
A 19-year-old man also presented at the hospital a short time later, with police launching an investigation into the death.
Following inquiries, police on Tuesday arrested a 20-year-old man during a vehicle stop on Valley Rd at Campbelltown.
He was taken to Campbelltown police station where he was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Later that same morning, police also arrested an 18-year-old at a unit complex on Church St in North Parramatta shortly after 10am.
The man was taken to Merrylands police station, where he was charged with murder and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Both men were refused bail to appear in court on Wednesday, with the 18-year-old to front Parramatta Local Court and the 20-year-old at Liverpool Local Court.
The Daily Telegraph reports Mr Woods’ father, also named George Woods, has paid tribute to his son in a touching online tribute where he described him as being “true to the core”.
“Words can’t express what you mean to me,” the senior Mr Woods said.
“To my beautiful son, my first born, you were my greatest friend, inspiration and achievement.
“I’m so sorry I couldn’t protect you in this dark time, I’m a broken man.”
