NEW DELHI: Union council of ministers are all set to meet on August 28 in the national capital marking the first meeting of the Modi 3.0 cabinet since the portfolio announcement.
After taking oath as the Prime Minister for the third consecutive time, Narendra Modi chose to retain four key ministers—Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, and S Jaishankar—in his new government.These ministers form the critical Cabinet Committee on Security, which is led by the prime minister.
Among the new additions to the Union Cabinet, former Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan assigned the agriculture and rural development ministries.
Meanwhile, five members from BJP’s allies were assigned key positions: H.D. Kumaraswamy of JD(Secular) is overseeing the heavy industries and steel ministries, Jitan Ram Manjhi of HAM-Secular is managing the micro, small, and medium enterprises ministry, and Lalan Singh of Janata Dal-United is handling Panchayati Raj, fisheries, animal husbandry, and dairying ministries.
