NEW DELHI: Mumbai police on Thursday said that Mihir Shah, who was arrested for killing a woman by ramming his BMW into the scooter she was riding, had consumed alcohol at two separate bars on the night of the incident.
Mihir had forcibly taken the car keys from the driver, the police said further.
Mihir Shah and his family’s driver, Rishiraj Bidawat (30), went to Marine Drive for a drive after visiting a pub in Juhu on Sunday.
The police previously said that Mihir insisted on driving the car once they arrived at Marine Drive.
On Sunday, Mihir’s father, Rajesh Shah and Bidawat were arrested. Rajesh Shah was granted bail on Monday, while a Sewri court extended Bidawat’s police custody by two days on Tuesday.
A police source mentioned that they are investigating the duration Mihir drove the car.
Mihir was arrested on Tuesday afternoon from a hotel in Virar.
Following his arrest, Mihir was taken to JJ Hospital for a medical examination, where doctors collected blood samples for testing.
