NEW DELHI: Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Monday that the new rakes (trains) of Amrit Bharat Express trains will have both AC and non-AC coaches, and these will be deployed on routes across the country. After inspecting the first Amrit Bharat train at New Delhi station, the minister said these trains will bring down travel time because of better acceleration. These trains have “push-pull” technology, meaning there are two engines at both ends. While one engine pulls, the other pushes from behind.
Vaishnaw said the first train is ready for flag off by Prime Minister Modi. He added that the train may be flagged off from Ayodhya. “We will run these trains for 4-5 months to see what all improvements are required. So far the results are better than what we had thought of during designing of this train. Like we have taken Vande Bharat trains to all states, these trains will also connect all of them,” he said.
