NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday attacked Congress leader Jairam Ramesh for “live-tweeting” various issues raised by different political parties during an all-party meeting and made strong remark against the opposition party stating that they should consider sending a “more seasoned hand” next time.
During the meeting the congress leaser, who was in attendance in a post on the social media platform X wrote: “In today’s all-party meeting of floor leaders chaired by defence minister Rajnath Singh, the JD(U) leader demanded special category status for Bihar. The YSRCP leader demanded special category status for Andhra Pradesh. Strangely, the TDP leader kept quiet on the matter.”
BJP’s IT department head Amit Malviya said: “There is a certain propriety and protocol one associates with these all party meetings.”
“There is free and frank exchange of ideas followed by media briefing. But a look at Jairam Ramesh’s timeline and it appears he was live tweeting the proceedings. Next time, the Congress should consider sending a more seasoned hand for these meetings,” Malviya added.
Ramesh’s social media posts contained a political angle as he underscored the demands put forth by two regional parties, which poses a challenging situation for the central government.
Officials have argued that the Finance Commission’s recommendations, which have been accepted by the government that prevent such a possibility.
The Congress leader also took a swipe at the TDP which is another ally of the BJP.
