NEW DELHI: National security advisor Ajit Doval spoke to his US counterpart Jake Sullivan in a telephonic conversation on Thursday, discussing wide range of issues of bilateral, regional and international concern.
According to a statement released by the White House, the two security advisors also discussed regional security developments and the need to ensure stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
“National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan spoke by phone today with Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. The two leaders discussed regional security developments, underscoring the need for further efforts to ensure stability in the Indo-Pacific region and globally,” the statement read.
“They welcomed progress in the bilateral partnership, including through the upcoming Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET) Intersessional and Indian Ocean Dialogue. They also discussed further opportunities for closer collaboration in key domains, including clean energy supply chains and defense cooperation,” it added.
The conversation comes a day after the disengagement process between India and China in Depsang and Demchok in Eastern Ladakh was completed and both sides will soon start the coordinated patrolling in their respective areas
