Police are on the hunt for the driver of a stolen $250,000 SUV rammed through a concrete wall in Sydney’s northwest overnight.
Emergency services were called to intersection of Windsor Rd and Barina Downs Rd in Norwest shortly after 2am on Thursday.
Officers located a single vehicle, an Mercedes Benz SUV, which police allege was stolen from a property in Kellyville a short time earlier.
The vehicle was reportedly seen being driven at high speeds before losing control, crossing six lanes of traffic and landing in a garden bed.
Police are now searching for the driver who was not a scene when officers arrived, as the hulking wreck is removed from the suburban yard.
Images obtained from Nine News reveal the extent of the damage to the vehicle, which reportedly also ploughed through nearby trees.
The mangled vehicle can been seen in the images with all its airbags deployed, windows smashed, and frame concaved, while being extracted.
Neighbours told Nine News news of the crash made their “skin crawl”, and that it was lucky the driver didn’t hit any cars or the home.
In a statement, police said no further information was available with investigations ongoing, but confirmed no injuries were reported.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has any dashcam or mobile phone footage to contact Crimestoppers.
