A woman has died after falling 50m from atop a popular lookout on NSW’s south coast.
An operation by Police Rescue successfully retrieved the woman’s body about 5pm on Monday after she earlier fell from the lookout along the McKenzie’s Saddle Walking Track at Buangla.
Family members of the woman were present at the time but she is yet to be formally identified, a NSW Police spokesperson told NCA NewsWire.
Police Rescue and the Toll Helicopter were dispatched after calls were made to emergency services about midday.
They found the body of the woman was found a short time later below the remote lookout.
Officers will now also prepare a report for the coroner.
Located inland from Nowra, McKenzie lookout and walking track is considered a lesser-known trail and offers views of Yalwal State Forest.
