NEW DELHI: Lucknow authorities flagged a highly unusual consignment when a foetus, meant for a medical lab in Mumbai, was mistakenly diverted to the city’s airport cargo bay instead of being transported via road. The incident arose due to an internal system failure within the logistics company.
The consignment was flagged during routine cargo scanning, prompting cargo bay officials to call in the courier company’s representatives for clarification. Upon realizing the error, the company retrieved the shipment from the airport and returned it to their warehouse.
Efforts are now underway to arrange road transport to ensure the foetus reaches its intended destination in Mumbai for laboratory analysis. The logistics firm has yet to release an official statement addressing the procedural lapse.
