PUNE: A computer engineer (24) on Tuesday afternoon stabbed a course coordinator (23) of a computer training institute on JM Road out of frustration over not getting placement on completing his Java language course from the centre two months ago.
The victim, Sankalp Yogesh Jambhle, suffered a stabinjury in the stomach. He was taken to a nearby private hospital.His condition was reported to be stable in the evening, said senior inspector Vipin Hasabnis of the Deccan Gymkhana police. Jambhle later lodged a complaint with the Deccan Gymkhana police.
“The staff at the institute rushed to Jambhle’s rescue and apprehended the assailant, Rushikesh Ashok Nade from Latur. He holds a BE (computers) degree,” Hasabnis said.
Accused paid Rs 1 lakh for placement
Senior inspector Vipin Hasabnis of the Deccan Gymkhana police said: “He has been residing in a paying guest facility at Deccan Corner. Nade had paid Rs1.35 lakh to the institute and was promised placement on completion of the course.” “Nade was unable to secure placement through the institute despite several job interviews. Four days back, he had visited the computer training centre, picked up a quarrel with the women staffers there and had abused them.
PUNE:On Monday, the institute sent an email to him terminating all its commitments, citing his behavior. Irked over this, Nade went to the institute around 1.30pm and quarrelled with Jambhle. He then pulled out a knife and stabbed Jambhle in the stomach before others apprehended him,” Hasabnis said
