ALWAR: A BJP worker died on Friday after he was attacked by a group of people in Rajasthan late on Thursday.
The murder is suspected to be a fallout of personal animosity, police said. A group of over a dozen assailants attacked Yaseen Khan near Vijaypura village in Narayanpur police station area of Kotputli-Behror district.
Khan, accompanied by BJP member Parmendra Sharma and advocate Jitendra Sharma, was returning to Alwar from Jaipur when the attackers intercepted their vehicle.Armed with sticks and axes, they assaulted Khan for about 20 minutes, fracturing his limbs. Despite being rushed to hospital in Jaipur, Khan succumbed to his injuries on Friday morning.
A case has been registered against Irfan, Akbar, Akram, Dilawar, Akkha, Wasim and others of Belaka village. A search operation is under way to apprehend the perpetrators, while police have provided security to the victim’s family. Police are probing the circumstances surrounding the attack and motive behind the targeted violence.
