NEW DELHI: In the aftermath of India’s heart-wrenching loss to Australia in the ICC ODI World Cup final, skipper Rohit Sharma conceded that the team fell short, describing them as ‘not good enough on the day.’ Since then, Sharma has maintained a low profile in the media. But a heartwarming video featuring his five-year-old daughter, Samaira, is going viral on social media.
In the video capturing a candid moment, Samaira, accompanied by her mother, Ritika, was seen leaving a building when greeted by media personnel near the exit gate. Unfazed by the attention, the little one responded by waving her tiny hand graciously. The video was apparently an old one when the family went to UK and Rohit had covid.
When a reporter inquired about her father’s whereabouts, Samaira paused, turning to face the media with innocence and confidence. The ensuing exchange unfolded as follows:
Reporter: Where’s your father?
Samaira: He is in his room…
Reporter: Is he fine right now?
Samaira: He is almost positive…but in one month, he will laugh.
With that, the brave and adorable Samaira concluded the impromptu interview, making her exit with poise.

Post the cricketing spectacle, Rohit Sharma received accolades by being named the captain of the ICC’s Team of the Tournament. A total of six Indian players, including the Player of the Tournament, Virat Kohli, were featured in the XI.
Despite India’s loss to Australia in the summit clash, Rohit Sharma’s fearless batting and exemplary leadership won praise from all corners. Finishing as the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament with 597 runs in 11 matches at an average of 54.27, including one century and three fifties, Sharma showcased his prowess on the grand stage.
