With a home Test season coming up, followed by the gruelling five-Test series for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia, India captain Rohit Sharma is putting in the hard hours to stay in shape while being exempted from participation in the Duleep Trophy.
India are scheduled to play 10 Tests between September and January as part of the ongoing World Test Championship cycle.
The swing begins with a two-Test home series against Bangladesh in September-October, after which India will welcome New Zealand, who will play three Tests. The subsequent five Test matches will be part of the much-awaited Australia tour beginning November 22 with the first game in Perth.
To stay fit for those 10 Tests back to back, Rohit has been working out under the supervision of old friend and current assistant coach of the Indian team, Abhishek Nayar.
India’s red-ball swing begins with the first Test against Bangladesh from September 19 in Chennai.
While India’s Test and ODI captain was pictured running in what appeared to be a park, another image circulating on social media showed him posing inside a gym alongside Nayar and Dhawal Kulkarni.

India’s domestic season will begin with the Duleep Trophy beginning September 5.
Most of India’s Test regulars will feature in the red-ball domestic tournament, except Rohit, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin.
Virat has been spending time with his family in London during his break from cricket since the end of the ODI series in Sri Lanka.
