JAIPUR: In the Rajasthan assembly elections, a number of ministers from the Ashok Gehlot government, including Govind Ram Meghwal, who held the position of disaster management minister and served as the Congress’ campaign committee chief, experienced defeat.
Govind Meghwal specifically faced a loss on the Khajuwala seat, where he was defeated by the BJP’s Vishwanath Meghwal.
Several other Congress ministers faced defeat in the elections, including Bhanwar Singh Bhati on the Kolayat seat, Shakuntala Rawat in Bansur, Vishvendra Singh in Deeg Kumher, Ramesh Chand Meena in Sapotara, Shale Mohammad in Pokaran, and Udailal Anjana in Nimbahera.
Additionally, a number of ministers, including BD Kalla in Bikaner West, Zahida Khan in Kaman, Bhajan Lal Jatav in Weir, Mamta Bhupesh in Sikrai, Parsadi Lal Meena in Lalsot, Sukhram Vishnoi in Sanchore, Ramlal Jat in Mandal, and Pramod Jain Bhaya in Anta, are currently trailing in the ongoing elections.
Five out of the six advisors to CM Gehlot, namely Sanyam Lodha in Sirohi, Rajkumar Sharma in Nawalgarh, Babu Lal Nagar in Dudu, Danish Abrar, and former chief secretary Niranjan Arya, are currently trailing in the election results.
Gehlot, along with 25 ministers and several other Congress leaders, participated in the assembly elections.
Gehlot from Sardarpura, Ashok Chandna from Hindoli, Shanti Dhariwal from Kota North, Brajendra Ola from Jhunjhunu, Subhash Garg from RLD/Bharatpur, Murari Lal Meena from Dausa, Arjun Singh Bamaniya from Banswara, and Mahendra Jeet Singh Malviya from Bagidora are currently leading on their respective seats and are poised to secure victory in the polls.
