Shamita Shetty, who is known for her appearance in Bigg Boss 14 recently criticized IndiGo Airlines on social media for offloading her luggage without prior notification. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, Shamita shared that she had flown from Jaipur to Chandigarh for an event, only to find upon arrival that her essential belongings had been left behind.
“I am stuck at Chandigarh Airport. I traveled from Jaipur to Chandigarh on an IndiGo Airline, and my bags were just offloaded without informing me,” she stated in an accompanying video, adding that her hairdresser’s bag was also removed due to weight restrictions. Shamita questioned the airline’s lack of communication, asking, “Am I not supposed to be informed before something like this is done?”
Expressing her frustration further, Shamita tweeted, “Pardon my French but IndiGo airline, you’re a pretty awful airline to fly on! And the ground staff is totally useless! Think twice before flying on this airline @IndiGo6E #indigo a total no no!”
She added that the airline expected her to wait for the next flight, landing at 10:30 p.m., which was after her event. In response, IndiGo swiftly issued an apology and reached out for more information, tweeting, “Ms Shetty, we apologize for the inconvenience and would like to address the matter. Could you please DM us an alternate contact number and a convenient time for us to reach out?”
Shetty responded, emphasizing that the airline “cannot offload a bag without speaking with the passenger,” and noted that eight other passengers had also been affected by the incident. The incident highlights ongoing issues around customer communication and baggage handling among budget airlines, as passengers increasingly demand better service and accountability.
