Team Shershaah is over the moon. After having won millions of hearts and several accolades, the film has now won the Special Jury Award at the prestigious National Award announced today.
Filmmaker Kran Johar who produced the film reacted to this win with a ‘thank you’ post on social media. “What an absolute honour! Shabbir Boxwala who was also one of the producers of Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani starrer said to ETimes, “I am overwhelmed. It is a prestige to receive a National Award. It was a lot of hard work for the team and it’s paid off. This film was very close to our heart so we are overjoyed. Vikram Batra’s family is also very overjoyed.”
Earlier, in an exclusive interview with ETimes, Shabbir spoke about KJo’s immense contribution to the film. “COVID had happened and Karan had time. So yes, he was very much involved. He gave us many inputs. He gave a lot to the music. He has a great ear for music. My creative producer Mr Shubodeep Pal at my company Kaash Entertainment is a very intelligent guy. We frequently develop and exchange concepts. At this moment, a couple of my projects are about to be greenlit.” he had said.
About the casting, he revealed that Karan had quite a few names for the role of female lead until he eventually one day made them meet Kiara Advani. “We wanted a young Punjabi girl. Vishnuvardhan (director) had a few narrations with other girls, but Kiara won the race,” he said.
