In a chat with us, soon after her mehendi ceremony, the actress, who has been part of shows like Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev Prithvi Vallabh — Itihaas Bhi, Rahasya Bhi, Dastaan-E-Mohabbat Salim Anarkali, and Ishq Mein Marjawan, while talking about her attire for the event, said, “The highlight of the ritual was my outfit choice. I aimed to emphasise sustainable fashion, so I opted for my mother’s wedding attire — a timeless piece blending tradition and sentiment seamlessly. The intricate mehndi design mirrored varied emotions entwined in our union, crafting a tapestry of love on my hands.”

Talking about the haldi event, she added, “The haldi ceremony, a symbol of purity, became a ceremonial cleansing. The sangeet and cocktail events captured the blend of our beliefs and emotions. Our families spent numerous hours rehearsing parodies of songs that narrated our nine-year love story, taking us on a nostalgic journey down memory lane.”
Sonarika met Vikas, who happened to be her brother’s friend, at a gym, and things just took off from there. Talking about her relationship and impending marriage, a month before the big day, she told us, “I was certain from the beginning that I didn’t want to be with an actor because having one partner outside the industry balances it out. He keeps me grounded and has been my biggest cheerleader. I just know that he loves me unconditionally.”
