Hoards of teenagers have been filmed being chased by police after allegedly egging cop cars in Sydney on Tuesday night.

In a chaotic video posted to TikTok, one onlooker claimed officers were in pursuit of ‘over 100’ teenagers after “multiple fights” broke out and eggs were thrown at police cars in Avalon Beach, in the city’s north.

In the video, which has amassed over 200,000 views, groups of teenagers can be seen shouting and sprinting in a park while two police officers follow behind.

“Oh f***, they’re running c***,” one teen can be heard shouting.

The video then cuts to show crowds of teenagers walking out of the area, before panning to a nearby car park where multiple police cars had parked with flashing lights.

In a statement to news.com.au, NSW Police said officers were called to the northern Sydney suburb of Freshwater, 20km from Avalon Beach, about 6.30pm on Tuesday following reports of young people throwing eggs at vehicles.

“Officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command arrived to find a group of young people engaging in anti-social behaviour,” they said.

Police said they issued the group with a move on direction which they complied with, andinvestigations are continuing.

News.com.au understands this is the same incident as recorded in the TikTok video.
