LUCKNOW: It was the “sensitive” touch that gave the magnificent idol of Ram Lalla its magical aura. Acclaimed sculptor Arun Yogiraj on Saturday said though he was confident about the symmetry in his creation, he knew that the big difference in the outcome was possible only if he crafted the idol with sensitivity.
A month after the ‘shyamal’ idol of Ram Lalla was consecrated at the Ram temple in Ayodhya, the noted carver on Saturday shared with his fans on Facebook a beautiful black and white photo of the Lord, saying, “At the time of work in progress……Even after feeling confident about the proportions and symmetry, feeling the Ram Lalla through our sensitive touch will make a big difference in the final outcome.”
Recently, the Mysure-based sculptor had shared the image of the silver hammer used in shaping the divine eyes of the Lord.
“Thought of sharing this silver hammer with the golden chisel using which I carved the divine eyes (Netronmilana) of Ram Lalla, Ayodhya,” Yogiraj had posted on his Facebook page.
Ram Lalla idol depicts Ram at the age of five, and was carved from black stone by Yogiraj, a fifth-generation sculptor. The temple trust had said that of the three idols, one would be placed in the sanctum sanctorum, while the remaining two would be kept in other parts of Ram Mandir.
