AGRA: A class 10 student of a prominent public school in Aligarh city, who had set his classmate on fire after pouring petrol on his bag on Tuesday, was sent to a juvenile home on Wednesday.
The victim suffered severe burn injuries and is still in hospital, where doctors said he is out of danger. SP (city) Mrigank Shekhar Pathak on Thursday said, “Following an investigation, police picked up the accused boy from his house and sent him to a juvenile home.”
According to police, the injured student had damaged the accused student’s school bag on Monday and hence he wanted to take revenge. On Tuesday, the accused student poured petrol on the bag his classmate was carrying and set it ablaze, but the fire went out of control and the latter suffered severe burn injuries, said police. The victim was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.
