NEW DELHI: Excitement is building in Kamala Harris‘ ancestral village of Thulasendrapuram in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvarur district, as posters of the US Vice President go up after President Joe Biden‘s endorsement of her as the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee.
The posters were displayed at the entrance of the Sri Dharma Sastha Temple.
The village, which celebrated Harris’ 2020 Vice Presidential victory with great enthusiasm, is once again abuzz with anticipation.
A special puja was also performed in 2020 at Dharma Sasta temple located in the village for thanking the almighty for fulfilling their prayers when she was elected the US vice president. A group also celebrated by bursting crackers and distributing sweets.
Kamala Harris, the first Indian-origin Vice President of the Democratic Party in the US, has roots in Thulasendrapuram, her grandfather and former Indian diplomat PV Gopalan’s native village.
