NEW DELHI: A Delhi-based visa consultancy firm, which has been booked by CBI in connection with the case of trafficking of Indian youths, allegedly sent around 180 youths to Russia in the last few months.
CBI is ascertaining the whereabouts of these youths, most of them sent on student visas. It is also probing the role of at least two Russia-based agents who confiscated passports of Indians arriving in Russia and sent them for combat training after which they were sent to fight with the armed forces.The probe has also indicated that the enlisting in the Army was done illegally by private contractors.
The probe agency is trying to trace each of these youths sent to Russia by RAS Overseas Foundation, and ascertain how many of these were sent to the war zone, sources said. The sleuths are also trying to find out how many of those who went to Russia on students’ visas were actually enrolled in college or universities.
According to officials, the network of agents operated both in India and Russia. Many of the touts detained for questioning had links with multiple visa and consultancy firms. The FIR filed by CBI lists 19 suspects, including the firms and their directors, besides agents.
The Delhi-based firm is located on KG Marg. CBI has named the firm’s director, Suyash Mukut, as an accused in the FIR. Another firm named in the FIR is Baba Vlogs Overseas Recruitment Solutions Pvt Ltd, Dubai, whose director, Faisal Abdul Mutalib Khan alias Baba, is an accused in the case. The suspect runs a vlog in the name of Babavlogs and allegedly lures people through social media on false pretexts, officials said.
