WhatsApp’s parent company, Meta has started testing Meta AI — an AI-powered chatbot in India. Following an initial phase of restricted trials in the US, Meta is expanding another round of limited testing for the Meta AI-driven chatbot on WhatsApp to several countries including India.
As reported by WABteaInfo, the feature is available for iOS and Android beta testers who have installed the latest beta version of the app.The Meta AI chatbot is designed to integrate suggestions and prompts to facilitate user interaction with Meta AI directly from the search interface.
What is Meta AI chatbot and how to use it
WhatsApp is presently deploying Meta AI integration within the search bar for certain users in designated countries who have their app configured to English. Conversely, chosen users in India now have the chance to explore an alternative entry point conveniently positioned within the top app bar for easy access to the Meta chatbot.
User input into the search bar is always kept private and is not disclosed to Meta AI unless deliberately prompted to the Meta AI chatbot. The topics recommended by Meta AI either through the search bar or the Meta AI conversation are consistently randomly generated and unaffected by user-specific details.
It’s worth noting that the search bar still remains intact for its primary purpose, allowing users to search for chats, messages, media, and contacts within the app. This implies that even without engaging with Meta AI, users retain the ability to search within their conversations for particular messages, media, or contacts with the same level of ease and privacy they’ve always experienced.
