NEW DELHI: India will take on arch-rivals Pakistan in a highly-anticipated 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup clash on June 9 at Eisenhower Park in Nassau County, New York. This prestigious tournament will take place from June 1 to June 29 and is co-hosted by the West Indies and the United States.
After the schedule announcement, Star Sports, the official broadcaster of the ICC event, unveiled a poster featuring the India-Pakistan clash across their social media platforms.
The banner had the images of the newly-appointed captain Shaheen Afridi alongside Hardik Pandya in anticipation of the showdown.
The post sparked significant confusion among fans, leading to speculation about whether Hardik Pandya had replaced Rohit Sharma as the captain for the upcoming T20 World Cup next year.

India, who won the inaugural 2007 T20 World Cup, under MS Dhoni’s captaincy, are slotted in Group A alongside Pakistan, USA, Canada and Ireland. They will be playing all of their group matches in the USA.
India will kick off their campaign against Ireland on June 5 in New York, before facing Pakistan on June 9.
They will play their third game in New York against the USA on June 12, before facing off against Canada in Miami on June 15.
All of India’s matches have a start time of 8:30 pm IST.
The semifinals will be played on June 26 and 27 in Guyana and Trinidad respectively, before the final at Barbados on June 29.
