Woolworths has introduced more than 100 new baked desserts to stores across the country.
The bakery range includes both new and reformulated cakes, cookies, muffins, and baked desserts.
The cult classic Woolies mud cake has been upgraded in the form of a smash cake which features the same fluffy chocolate sponge cake but topped with a chocolate dome filled with jelly lollies.
Prices range from $5.50 for cookies, $23 for Lemon Meringue Tart and $35 for a Smash Cake.
Of course, the original mud cakes in chocolate, caramel and white chocolate are still available.
Woolworths Merchandise Bakery Manager Donald Keith joked that his team has had a “tough job” taste-testing each of the new products.
“It’s been a tough job but our team taste tested every product,” he said.
“We’ve worked hard for more than 18 months so customers can experience the great taste, quality and value our new range delivers.”
A few lucky customers were also involved in the taste-test process with many getting to try samples in store.
A Chocolate Chunk Cookie Pie is ready to be warmed up in the oven and served with your favourite ice cream.
While a Biscoff baked cheesecake is likely to be a crowd favourite, with the key ingredient – Biscoff cinnamon spice biscuits – already flying off the shelf in the snack aisle.
Some of the other stand out features are a Lemon Meringue Tart and Caramel Cake with dulce de leche.
