KOLKATA: The Maidan police have detained four persons from the Eden Gardens during the Pakistan-Bangladesh World Cup match for allegedly waving the Palestinian flag from the gallery.
Given that the youths chose a World Cup to make a statement, cops stated that they did not wish to take any chances.
The cops said while one hails from Bally, another is a resident of Ekbalpore area.Two others are political workers who had attended a protest march before walking in to the stadium. They were detained from near Gate 6 and D block, said police.
