NEW DELHI: As PM Narendra Modi stood up to walk out of Lok Sabha on Monday after leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi’s speech, Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra requested him to stay back and listen to her speech. She proceeded with her speech saying “my bad luck” when he did not stay back.
“Honourable prime minister, I would really request you, since you have been here for the better half of the one hour, please listen to this and go”, she said as she started her speech.
“Don’t be afraid”, she added.

“You came to my area twice during the campaign sir, at least listen to me today,” she said.
On Rahul Gandhi walking out of the Parliament at the same time, Mahua said, “It’s okay, he is my LoP. He has already listened to me”.
Launching a scathing attack on the BJP regarding the Lok Sabha poll results, Mahua said, “The last time I stood here I was not allowed to speak. But the ruling party has paid a very heavy price for throttling the voice of one MP. In an attempt to suppress me, people made 63 of your members sit permanently.”
“The BJP’s ‘raj tantra’ has been reduced by the ‘lok tantra’ of this country. This is not a stable government. It depends on multiple allies who have a history of U-turns. We are 234 warriors this time, having walked on fire. You will not be able to treat us like last time,” she added.
