Police are on the hunt for a shopper who allegedly racked up more than $30,000 in fraudulently obtained tools from Bunnings stores.

Officers allege the man amassed the bill after fraudulently gaining access to two business accounts, which he used at the hardware stores.

Over about a week, the man is alleged to have purchased more than $30,000 in tools and equipment at five stores across the ACT.

The man is believed to have at the time been driving a white MG with Victorian plates, which police allege was obtained with fraudulent details.

On Friday, police released images of a man they believe might be able to assist with their investigation into the alleged fraud spree.

Police are urging anyone who can assist with this man’s identity to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000
