Amazon Australia has announced the expansion of its free One-Day Delivery service to five more Australian cities.
Residents of Brisbane, Geelong, Gosford, Newcastle and Wollongong will be able to get access to the express delivery service as of Wednesday.
The One-Day delivery service is available on more than one million products or no minimum spend and can be ordered as late as midnight for next day delivery.
Eligible items can be easily identified by customers shopping on the Amazon app or Amazon.com.au via the ‘Prime FREE One-Day’ or ‘Prime One-Day’ icons.
Amazon Australia general manager Matthew Benham said the retailer is excited to announce the expansion of the service to even more cities.
“When customers shop online, they want to know they are getting a great price and that their order will be delivered to them fast, with no additional costs,” he said.
The membership is available for just $9.99 a month and gives users access to much more than just fast delivery.
Prime members get access to Amazon Original series and films including Saltburn and Daisy Jones & The Six and access to 100 million songs ad-free with Amazon Music.
Customers who have not tried Prime can unlock a 30-day free trial at amazon.com.au/prime and then pay AU$9.99 per month, or $79 for an annual membership.
The retailers delivery expansion has been made possible due to the construction of six fulfilment centres, including a facility in Lytton, Brisbane which is the same size as two Rugby League fields and can house more than one and a half a million products.
Amazon’s delivery capacity increased by almost 50 per cent in 2023 and 600 permanent roles were added to its operations network.
Prime members outside of eligible postcodes can still benefit from free delivery in as fast as two days on eligible orders.
