Bluey fans in NSW are now able to get their paws on a special birth certificate featuring the iconic characters as the state government unveils a commemorative version of the document.

The NSW Births, Deaths and Marriages Registry has unveiled three Bluey-inspired designs in their latest offerings of commemorative birth certificates, which are available for purchase for all residents.

It comes just months after the Registry began offering Blinky Bill designs for the documents, with 38 different commemorative certificates to choose from.

More than 221,000 commemorative birth certificates have been sold since 2014, including designs for Lunar New Year, Rugby League teams and Indigenous art.

Those who are interested will have to fork out $41 for a single commemorative birth certificate or $87 for a package of one special and one regular copy of the document.

The commemorative birth certificates aren’t able to be used as a replacement for the official version of the document.

NSW Customer Service Minister Jihad Dib said the government was “excited” to unveil the design.

“The commemorative certificates respond to customers wanting to celebrate the birth of their child and now the Registry is encouraging the community to have their say and help shape future designs,” Mr Dib said.

“Commemorative certificates are a special way to show your love for a favourite character, have your name against your favourite footy team’s colours or to commemorate your heritage with one of our Indigenous art designs or Chinese Lunar New Year certificates.”

NSW is not the only state where Bluey fans will be able to get their hands on a commemorative birth certificate of their favourite show, with Queensland unveiling similar designs in 2020.
