GHAZIABAD: Ghaziabad police have registered an FIR against security personnel of poet Kumar Vishwas after a doctor was allegedly assaulted by them, debunking the claims made by the former AAP leader.
The 35-year-old doctor, identified as Dr Pallab Bajpai, was allegedly beaten over a road rage incident on Wednesday.
In his complaint, the doctor stated that the incident happened after a police car requested to overtake his vehicle.However, another car passed his vehicle and the occupants started arguing with him.
His car was then forcefully stopped, and he was assaulted by the men. The accused also snatched his smartwatch.
The victim, a resident of Pratap Vihar in Ghaziabad, is an anesthetist and works as a freelancer in different hospitals in Delhi-NCR. At the time of the incident, he was on his way to an operation in a private hospital in Pratap Vihar after completing an operation at Arogya hospital in Vaishali.
Swatantra Singh, ACP of Indirapuram said that initial investigation revealed that the claim made by Kumar Vishwas on X turned out to be fake.
Based on the complaint by the victim, an FIR has been registered at Indirapuram police station against security personnel of Kumar under Sections 392 (punishment for robbery), 147 (Punishment for rioting), 148 (Rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of IPC.
“Today, while going to Aligarh, when I left my house in Vasundhara, on the banks of Hindon, a car driver tried to attack the car of the security personnel traveling with him by hitting the car from both the sides. When I got down, the security personnel interrogated that person. When he was stopped, he attacked not only the UP police constable but also the security personnel of the central forces. Reported to police. Reason could not be known. May God keep everyone safe. Thank you for all your good wishes,” Vishwas posted on X in Hindi.
