A 27-year-old woman has been charged with murder over an alleged domestic violence incident in Perth.

Police were called to a home on Plaistow Street in Joondalup just before 9pm on Thursday.

A man believed to be in his 30s was found with serious injuries.

Paramedics worked to save the man but he was unable to be revived.

The 27-year-old woman believed to be known to the man was assisting Homicide Squad detectives with their inquiries.

On Saturday, she was charged with murder and appeared in court the same day.

She was remanded in custody and will appear before the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on October 25.
