An Aussie newsagent has been dubbed “Mr Lucky” after selling a staggering 62 division one winning lottery tickets in its history.

Melton Lotto & TSG in Melbourne has been open for 20 years and, in that time, has sold 62 division one lotto tickets. Eight of those wins have been in the last three years.

An Aussie dad recently became Melton Lotto’s latest winner, scooping up $1.7 million in Saturday’s Tattslotto after buying a ticket at the store.

The Melton dad said he felt he was “living in a dream” after winning with the same numbers he’d played for 35 years.

“I have had them for so long, I’ve forgotten what they even mean,” he said.

“This is incredible. I’ll be able to pay off my daughter’s house and invest the rest … This is the best day of my life.”

The man held one of three division one winning entries across Australia. He was initially unaware of his new fortune because his entry was unregistered, meaning lottery officials had no way of contacting him until he came forward.

Another of Saturday’s division one wins was also in Victoria, while the third was in NSW.

Phong Thai, who owns Melton Lotto & TSG, said the newsagent’s luck was “crazy”.

“I’m stoked! I can’t believe we’ve sold yet another division one winning entry,” he said.

“Many of my customers call me ‘Mr Lucky’ because of how many division one winning entries our outlet has sold.

“I’m sure many customers will feel inspired with hopes they’re the next division one winner to take home a million-dollar prize.”

The winning numbers in Saturday’s Tattslotto draw were 13, 16, 21, 29, 45 and 4, while the supplementary numbers were 11 and 6.
