In a connected event, Maratha quota supporters, armed with wooden sticks, vandalized the office of BJP MLA Prashant Bamb in Gangapur, located in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district in central Maharashtra, as reported.

No casualties were reported in the two incidents.
Following the arson at MLA Solanke’s residence, a group of Maratha quota activists proceeded to the Majalgaon Municipal Council building, located off Parali Road, where they began vandalizing the premises, according to a senior police official.
The incident occurred in Majalgaon, which is located over 400 kilometers away from Mumbai, around 1.30 pm.
The group, wielding wooden sticks and stones, caused damage to the building by shattering its window panes, as stated by the official.
Subsequently, the vandals proceeded to the first floor of the building and set it on fire, resulting in the destruction of the furniture located there, according to the official.
Fire brigade personnel promptly responded to the scene and successfully extinguished the flames, the official noted.
Fortunately, there were no casualties reported.
In their investigation, the police have initiated the examination of CCTV footage from the vicinity to identify those responsible for setting the municipal council building on fire.
Legal proceedings are also underway to register an offense against the individuals involved, as per the official.
In the second incident that occurred in Gangapur, located in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, the police detained two individuals after a group of Maratha quota supporters damaged the window panes and furniture within the office of BJP MLA Bamb, as reported by the police.
These acts of violence and arson occurred at a moment when quota activist Manoj Jarange has been undertaking an indefinite fast since October 25 in Antarwali Sarati village within the Jalna district.
This fast is part of the second phase of the agitation, which seeks reservation for the Maratha community.
