MUMBAI: Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, has received two more threatening emails from the same sender who had previously demanded Rs 400 crore.
The sender also warned of serious consequences for ignoring previous emails.
“Industrialist Mukesh Ambani received two threat emails once again between October 31 and November 1, warning him of serious consequences for ignoring previous emails wherein the person (sender of the mail) had demanded Rs 400 crore,” reported ANI quoting Mumbai police.Previously, the sender had demanded Rs 20 crore, threatening, “If you don’t give us Rs 20 crore, we will kill you. We have the best shooters in India.”
In a subsequent email, the sender increased the demand to 400 crore rupees and stated, “If the police can’t track me, they can’t arrest me…”
Based on a complaint by Ambani’s security in-charge Devendra Munsiram, Gamdevi police had registered an FIR of extortion and criminal intimidation against the owner of the email.
Police said prima facie it appears the email ID was created just to make the threats.
