A couple of days ago, the trailer for the sports drama ‘800‘ was launched. Now, the makers took to social media to announce that the film will be released on October 6 in theaters. The movie is a biopic of Sri Lankan cricketer Muthiah Muralidharan, and it stars Madhur Mittal in the lead role.
The announcement read, “It’s time to know the tale of the man who defied the odds to become a cricket legend in Muthiah Muralidaran’s #800TheMovie, releasing WW on October 6th.”
Directed by MS Sripathy, ‘800’ features Madhur Mittal, Mahima Nambiar, Naren, Nasser, and Ritythvika in important roles, and the music for the film is composed by Ghibran.’800′ was shot in Tamil, and it will be released in Telugu, Hindi, and English. The 3-minute-long trailer gives us an understanding of Muthiah Muralidahran’s background in the war-torn country of Sri Lanka and gives us a glimpse of how he steps forward to become a cricketer amidst the country’s political drama.
The film also focuses on Muthiah’s connection with the Tamil community. Being born in Sri Lanka amid the civil war and the controversies he faced as a national player, the movie mainly focuses on the hardships faced because of his background and because he had to prove himself in every single game.
