NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday wrote a letter to a young girl from Kanker, Chhattisgarh, who had presented him a sketch at a recent public rally.
Akanksha Thakur‘s sketch caught the PM’s attention while he was addressing an election rally in Kanker. Modi paused his address, requesting security personnel to bring him the sketch. The PM requested Akanksha to write her address on the back of the sketch so that he could write her a letter.
In his letter, the PM Modi wrote: “Dear Akanksha, Good luck and blessings.The sketch you brought to Kanker’s program has reached me. Thank you very much for this loving expression.”
He went on to write: “India’s daughters are the bright future of the country. This affection and belongingness that I receive from all of you is my strength in the service of the nation. Our aim has been to build a healthy, safe and well-equipped nation for our daughters.” The letter went viral on social media.
