NEW DELHI: South Africa’s young pacer Marco Jansen unleashed a barrage of verbal volleys at Pakistan batsman Mohammad Rizwan during their ICC ODI World Cup match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
The incident took place in the sixth over when Jansen, after bowling two dot balls, dismissed Imam-ul-Haq for 12 runs and then was hammered for a boundary by Rizwan toward the third man.The South African pacer walked up to Rizwan and some heated words were exchanged between the two players.
After bowling the last ball of his over, Jansen again walked up to Rizwan and threw some verbal volleys. In a remarkable display of sportsmanship, a smiling Rizwan offered a heartfelt hug to his opponent.
Rizwan scored 31 runs off 27 balls before being dismissed by Gerald Coetzee.

Rizwan completed 2,000 one-day international runs when he opened his account with a boundary off fast bowler Jansen after Pakistan opted to bat at the Chidambaram Stadium.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and elected to bat against South Africa in their must-win World Cup clash.
Pakistan, who are coming off defeats in their last three games, need to win all their remaining fixtures and also hope for favourable results in order to remain in the semifinal race.
