NEW DELHI: Pakistan’s former minister for Information and Broadcasting, Fawad Chaudhry, was arrested from his home in Islamabad on Saturday, Geo News reported.
His wife, Hiba Fawad Chaudhary confirmed his arrest in a post on X, formerly Twitter, where she said, “Fawad arrested and taken to unknown place.”
“He was arrested by police and men wearing plain clothes,” she also said in a statement to Geo News, and added, “We have not been told why Fawad is being arrested.”
Earlier in May, Fawad Chaudhry was arrested outside the Supreme Court in Islamabad.He was arrested during the crackdown on the PTI leaders and workers.
The Islamabad police had arrested Chaudhry under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Ordinance (MPO) and shifted him to the Secretariat Police Station.
