NEW DELHI: A major terror attack was averted on Friday after vigilant army personnel spotted a high-powered explosive device that was planted near the national highway that connects Kupwara with Srinagar.
Almost 1,000 civilian vehicles and 200 defence vehicles cross the spot where the IED was planted.

“IED Recovered on Langate-Watergam Road. Chinar Warriors and Jammu & Kashmir Police averted a major terror incident today by recovering & in-situ destroying an IED on Langate-Watergam Road, Baramulla,” the Chinar Corps said on X (formerly Twitter).
The improvised explosive device (IED) was connected to three 10kg LPG cylinders. It was spotted by an alert ‘road opening party’ near Langait.
