NEW DELHI: Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday targeted Pawan Kalyan accusing the actor-turned-politician of selling his party Jana Sena to other political parties. Pawan Kalyan has joined hands with Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP to defeat the ruling YSRCP in the state. Jagan Mohan Reddy had earlier also accused Pawan Kalyan of having a share in the corruption of Chandrababu Naidu and being a partner in the economic offences of the TDP chief.
“Pawan Kalyan used to come to Andhra Pradesh once in a while. We have seen entrepreneurs coming and going to Andhra Pradesh, but we haven’t seen people like Pawan Kalyan who have sold their communities to other parties. Does he love his (Kaapu) community? If he loves his community, why did he sell his party to another political party?” Jagan Mohan Reddy said at a public meeting in Samarlakota.
Pawan Kalyan is part of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance but has offered all-out support to the TDP and its jailed supremo Chandrababu Naidu. Last month Pawan Kalyan went to meet Chandrababu Naidu in the Rajamahendravaram central prison where the TDP chief is under detention in the Skill Development Corporation Scam case. Kalyan was accompanied by TDP leader Nara Lokesh, who is Chandrababu Naidu’s son.
Jagan Mohan Reddy has mocked the alliance of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) with the Jana Sena (JS). “These political entities carry zero credibility and their coming together can only result in bigger zero,” Jagan Mohan Reddy said.
Addressing a gathering of YSRCP functionaries earlier this week, the chief minister said that the TDP-Jana Sena alliance will not have any adverse impact on YSRCP.
“While the TDP has no achievements to its credit, Jana Sena doesn’t have even flag-bearers or candidates to contest in all 175 constituencies,” the chief minister claimed.
