NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched an all-out attack on the Bhupesh Baghel-led Congress government in poll-bound Chhattisgarh, alleging corruption in its every scheme.
Speaking at a concluding function of the BJP‘s Parivartan Yatra outreach campaign, PM Modi claimed that the ruling Congress can not stand the rise of the dalits, STs, OBCs in the state.
He added that the grand old party abuses OBCs on the pretext of targeting him.
He vowed “stern action” against those found guilty in the Public Service Commission “scam” in the state if the BJP comes to power.
The Congress government in Chhattisgarh also committed corruption in distribution of ration given under the PM Garib Kalyan Yojana and in its own cow dung procurement scheme, he claimed.
If the BJP comes to power, its first cabinet decision will be to provide pucca houses to every poor person by expediting the process of house allotment, Modi said.
Further, in a veiled dig at the Congress, which has flagged concerns over the non-provision of an OBC sub-quota, PM Modi hailed the women’s reservation law as a path-breaking legislative effort whose will be felt over the “next thousand years”.
PM Modi said that Congress and its allies in the “Ghamandia bloc” supported the women’s reservation bill out of compulsion, and now the Congress is playing new tricks of dividing women on the lines of caste.
He added that the Congress is worried how this piece of legislation has brought about unity among the women while making them aware of their rights.
“The Congress and its allies are rattled and upset since this legislation secured passage in both Houses of Parliament. They are only worried about the electoral fallout, fearing that the women will shower their blessings on Modi. Afraid of the oneness and awareness that this law has brought about among our women, the opposition have now resorted to dividing them on the lines of caste. This is nothing but a poll gimmick,” PM Modi said.
