Police are calling on the public to help them in their hunt for a man who allegedly fled the scene of a jet ski crash in southern Sydney.

On September 17 at Brighton Beach at Brighton Le Sands, two jet skis collided about 4pm.

The police allege one of the vessels launched over the other and hit a 43-year-old female passenger.

The woman suffered significant facial injuries and paramedics took her to St George Hospital in a stable condition.

Her injuries require ongoing treatment.

The male rider allegedly fled the scene of the crash and the police have launched an investigation into the incident.

“Police are hoping to speak to a male rider of a dark coloured jet ski that was in the area at the time of crash who may be able to assist with the investigation,” a NSW Police spokesman said on Thursday.

“Police have been told the rider was driving erratically prior to the collision. It is also unknown if the rider received any injuries in the crash.”

The police have asked anyone with information on the incident, or who may have mobile phone vision, to call police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
