RAIPUR: A 16-year-old boy allegedly raped his 5-year-old neighbour on pretext of playing with her in Raipur on Thursday.
The survivor’s parents found the minor lying in an injured state and reported the matter to the police. An FIR was launched under Pocso Act and the juvenile was arrested. During questioning, the accused confessed to the crime, police said adding that he was addicted to porn videos.
As the girl undergoes treatment, the family members and others came forward demanding strict action against the accused. They are now planning to gherao the police station on Saturday. Her kin also alleged that the girl wasn’t provided immediate treatment due to chaos but was admitted at Medical College hospital late night and her condition is worrisome.
Meanwhile, the opposition BJP’s women-wing has also staged protest outside Dharsiwa police station alleging insensitive behaviour by the police and demanding swift action.
