NEW DELHI: Former India batter Aakash Chopra took a hilarious dig at coach Mickey Arthur after Pakistan found themselves in dire straits during the World Cup match against Australia at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday.
Chopra took his X handle to call out the DJ to play ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ since they desperately needed a wicket.
“Koi DJ ko keh kar ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ bajwa do at The Chinnaswamy. Pakistan desperately needs a wicket. It’s a flat track alright but this is fast moving towards 375+ score. #CWC23 #PakvAus,” Chopra posted.

After suffering a seven-wicket thrashing against India in Ahmedabad last week, Pakistan team director Arthur lashed out at the BCCI for not playing the song ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
“Look, I’d be lying if I said that It didn’t seem like an ICC event, tonight, to be brutally honest. It seemed like a bilateral series; it seemed like a BCCI event. I didn’t hear Dil Dil Pakistan coming through the microphones too often tonight,” Arthur had said.

‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ is a popular song sung by famous group Vital Signs fronted by (late) Junaid Jamshed. It is like a second anthem that blares from loudspeakers at all ICC events.
Riding on David Warner (163) and Mitchell Marsh’s (121) smashing centuries, Australia posted a massive 367/9 on the board.
