AGRA: A 40-year-old man was arrested in Aligarh district for allegedly raping his 17-year-old daughter. Meanwhile, the wife of the accused also alleged that she was also tortured and forced to lick unwashed dishes. In a widely circulated video, which was purportedly recorded by one of her children, the woman was seen licking the unwashed dishes.
In her statement, the mother said, “My husband has been doing wrong things with my daughter for about five years. Whenever I protest, he beats me, does not allow me to eat or drink, and keeps threatening to kill me. I did not tell anyone about it out of fear.”
Police said that the accused, a daily wager, had been sent to jail while the girl was admitted to a hospital.
“The police booked the accused under IPC sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), 376 (rape), and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act),” said DSP Abhay Kumar Pandey.
