NEW DELHI: The second charter flight carrying 235 Indian nationals arrived in New Delhi under Operation Ajay on Saturday morning.
Under ‘Operation Ajay,’ 447 Indians were brought back to India. The second flight, carrying 235 nationals, took off from Tel Aviv, as shared by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
Union Minister Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, warmly received evacuated Indian nationals at the airport.
Passengers, mainly those working in Israel, praised the Indian government’s initiative.
The first flight, with 212 passengers, landed in Delhi on Friday. Evacuees expressed gratitude, and chants of ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ were heard.
Indian Ambassador to Israel, Sanjeev Singla, assured the well-being of Indian nationals. ‘Operation Ajay,’ launched by PM Narendra Modi to bring back 18,000 Indians, involves embassy assistance and a helpline for citizens.
A 24-hour control room by the MEA monitors the situation, offering information and assistance. MoS for External Affairs V Muraleedharan visited the control room, emphasizing India’s commitment to the safety of Indians abroad.
