BHOPAL: A three-year-old boy died after he was hit by his neighbour’s car while reversing in Bag Sewania locality on Tuesday night. The boy fell unconscious on the spot. The neighbour rushed him to a hospital in his car where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Bag Sewania police said that a case has been registered.
Investigation officer SI Jaswant Singh said that deceased Arjun Valmiki, son of Santosh Valmiki, resided with family at Amrai Parisar in Bag Sewania. He was the youngest among three siblings and has an elder five-year-old brother and a seven-year-old elder sister. His father Santosh works in BMC on contractual basis. Accused Sujeet Kumar resides in their neighbourhood and runs a travel agency.
SI Singh said that on Tuesday around 7pm, Arjun was playing outside his house. Sujeet who had just returned home along with his family members, was parking the car. When he reversed the car, Arjun reached behind it while playing. Sujeet couldn’t spot him and hit him. Arjun collapsed on the ground and fell unconscious. Locals and family members stopped Sujeet’s car and rushed Arjun to a hospital in Sujeet’s car. Doctors examined Arjun and declared him dead.
Bag Sewania police reached the spot and registered a case against Sujeet on charges of causing death by negligence.
SI Singh said that Arjun had no external injuries except bruises on his legs. Doctors told police that he sustained internal head injury which caused his death.
